This page discusses how to place, display and navigate media clips in the PluralEyes interface.
Putting clips in a projectIn a PluralEyes project, you put the media files from each camera or audio recorder into a separate bin. It is essential that each bin contains clips from only one device with the same file settings. PluralEyes treats each media file as an video clip or audio clip. It lays out clips on the Timeline, sorted into tracks. In standard projects, there is always a 1:1 relationship between bins and tracks, and a track is automatically created for each bin in the project. An alternate way of working in PluralEyes is using the “Do It For Me” workflow. This set of steps is great if you have lots of footage from many different sources, and you want to let PluralEyes take a shot at syncing it. |
Each video clip in PluralEyes goes into only one track. You won’t see its audio displayed as a second track, unlike some NLEs that split the visual and audio content of a video clip into two tracks.

After you import clips into a bin, each bin name displays some basic information. You will see the frame rate in frames per seconds (like “30 fps”) and the number of audio channels (like “2 chs”) for the footage.

Here are some tips about frame rate. This forum thread is also a good resource.

Play a clip. After you add clips to a project, you can play them to make sure they are the clips you intended to add. To play a clip:
Delete a clip. To delete a clip from a PluralEyes 3.5 project, click the clip in the Media Pane and then click the button at the bottom of the Media Pane. To select multiple clips to delete, Shift-click or Command-click/Mac [Right-click/Win] the clips.
Use shortcuts. You can play and pause clips using the J, K, and L keys. (Note: These shortcuts are available on OS X only.)
